To fulfil the dreams of poor families owning ‘pucca’ houses, Hoshiarpur MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal today distributed sanction letters worth Rs 1.71 crore to 114 beneficiaries in Mahilpur and Hoshiarpur-2 blocks.

Earlier, he had allotted a grant of Rs 14.50 crore to 963 beneficiaries. Each family would get a grant of Rs 1.50 lakh. Chabbewal said, “A house is not just a structure, but it is a symbol of a family’s identity and respect. This is a big step towards making the weaker sections of society self-reliant.” He appealed to the beneficiaries to make proper use of this scheme.

AAP MLA Ishaan Kumar also addressed the people who received the sanction letters and said this amount would also become the basis for development in rural areas.

“Poor families are not only getting a roof, but they will also get a sense of confidence and security. The Punjab Government is committed to ensure that every eligible person gets his rights,” said the MLA.
