11 stolen bikes recovered, 3 held
A team of the Anti-Vehicle Theft cell of Yamunanagar district has recovered 11 stolen motorcycles from two persons.
The team arrested three persons, including a buyer of the stolen motorcycles, in connection with these theft cases. The accused were identified as Nitin, Aadesh Patil, both residents of Chhapur village of Saharanpur district, and the buyer Amarjeet of Uttarakhand.
Sukhwinder Singh, in charge of the Anti-Vehicle Theft cell, said the accused were today produced before the District Court in Jagadhri, where they were sent to judicial custody.
Sukhwinder Singh said he got information that two persons were going to Uttar Pradesh via Kalanaur village of the district to sell a stolen motorcycle there.
He said a team was formed quickly to check vehicles by putting a barricade near Kalanaur village, adding that that after some time, two persons were seen coming to the place on a motorcycle. When the team stopped them and asked them to produce documents of the motorcycle, they failed to do so, leading to their arrest. He said 10 more stolen motorcycles were recovered from their possession.
All the recovered motorcycles were stolen by the accused from areas falling under the City police station, Yamunanagar, in the past three months.
