The cyber cell of the district police has arrested a man for allegedly committing an online fraud of Rs 1.15 lakh using a stolen mobile phone.

Inspector Naveen Kumar, in charge of the cyber cell, said the accused, Tohid, a resident of Khori Jamalpur village in Faridabad, was arrested in connection with the fraud committed in September. The arrest followed a complaint filed by the victim, Mohit Mangla, a resident of Kanungo Mohalla.

According to the complaint, Mohit lost his mobile phone on September 28 while traveling by public transport from Palwal to the Badarpur border in Faridabad. He discovered that Rs 1.15 lakh had been fraudulently withdrawn from his bank account in three separate transactions and subsequently lodged a complaint.
