1 dies, 9 hurt as vehicles collide in Abohar

A 21-year-old man died in a road accident outside Manaksar village in Hanumangarh, and nine people, including five women and a five-year-old girl, were injured. The deceased was identified as Husandeep Singh of Panjawa, near Malout.
The police said Gurvinder Singh (38), Mehakdeep Kaur (16), Sukhpreet Kaur (23), Gaggu Kaur (30), Sukhdeep Kaur (45), Mukesh Kumar Bishnoi (35), Naseeb Kaur (62), Sewak Singh (45), and Ekam (5) were hurt and they were admitted to the trauma centre at Hanumangarh.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhoop Singh said about 15 people in two vehicles were returning after paying obeisance at the Bhadrakali temple. He said during this time, one vehicle overtook the other, and it led to a collision between both vehicles near Simran Factory outside Manaksar village. The sub-inspector said after the accident, a car crashed into the wall, and a person died on the spot, while nine were injured in the mishap.
In another incident, a truck-trailer overturned on the roadside while preventing a collision with a stray animal on the Hanumangarh-Alamgarh bypass in Abohar. Besides the heavy vehicle, the solar plates and dividers installed on the bypass were damaged too.
Rampura Phul resident Harinder Singh and conductor Gursewak Singh said they were transporting cattle feed from Rampura Phul to Sriganganagar. They said when they reached the middle of the Hanumangarh-Alamgarh bypass, a stray animal came in front of the vehicle. They added that due to that, the balance of the vehicle got disturbed, and a tire burst, leading to the mishap.
