On a complaint lodged by Madhya Pradesh migrant Amar Bansal, presently residing at Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, the police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 7 and 8 of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act against a youth identified as Madan Lal, a resident of Tibbi in Phagwara on the charges of sexually abusing and outraging the modesty of a minor girl (niece of the complainant).The accused is still at large and is yet to be arrested by the police.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
