Jammu and Kashmir recorded three new coronavirus deaths and 179 new cases, among them 79 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Monday, developments that took the Union Territory’s death toll to 62 from 5,220 infections.
All three of Monday’s new deaths were from Kashmir.
So far, 62 persons have died from Covid-19 in J&K, which include 55 from Kashmir and seven from Jammu.
“In Jammu & Kashmir, 179 new positive cases have been reported since our last update yesterday. These include 28 from the Jammu division and 151 from the Kashmir division. Also three Covid deaths have been reported from the Kashmir Division,” read the government’s bulletin on coronavirus issued today.
At least 215 more patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals of J&K, the government’s daily bulletin showed.
Official data showed that out of the 179 positive cases, 79 are CRPF personnel posted in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
