Sarpanch, 200 others booked for rioting

Villagers showed black flags to the BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra and obstructed his car at Meham town in the district on Saturday. The police have registered a case against a village sarpanch and 200 others in this regard.
Jangra was invited as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of an indoor stadium at Saraswati Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School in Meham. A number of persons assembled there and started raising slogans against the BJP government.

“We are supporting the farmers’ agitation and will not allow any BJP leader to enter our area until the government fulfils the demands of the protesting farmers,” said a youth participating in the protest demonstration.
The police have registered a case against Ashish, sarpanch of Farmana village, and 200 unknown persons on charges of rioting, wrongful restraint and obstructing public servants from discharge of public functions under Sections 147, 149, 186 and 341 of the IPC on the basis of a complaint lodged by a police officer. No arrest was made till the filing of this report.
