104 booked for murder bid, attack on couple

The police have booked 104 persons on the charge of attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy and firing.

The accused have been identified as Dara Singh, Darbara Singh and Jashandeep Singh, residents of Talwandi Butian village under Shahkot police station, Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Talwann village under Bilga police station, and their accomplices.

Kashmir Kaur, wife of Balwinder Singh, a resident of Pipalli village, complained to the police that the accused barged into her house, armed with sharp-edged weapons and started beating up her husband and injured him seriously. Two accused barged into the kitchen, assaulted her and demanded their land related documents by pointing a pistol at her.

She said when she rejected the demand for papers, the accused tore her shirt and barged into her daughter’s room and took away Rs 1 lakh, gold jewellery and documents from the almirah, besides a tractor and motorcycle. OC
