259 fresh cases of Covid in J&K, 23 in Ladakh
Srinagar, June 28
J&K recorded 259 Covid cases on Monday, taking the total number of infections to 3,14,990, while six deaths pushed the toll to 4,310, officials said. Out of the fresh cases, 90 were from the Jammu division and 169 from the Kashmir division of the UT.
The active cases have dropped to 4,996 while 3,05,684 patients have recovered so far. Meanwhile, the officials said there were 29 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the UT as no fresh case had been reported since last evening.
Ladakh reported 23 new cases, taking the infection tally to 19,964. Twenty-three more people were discharged from hospitals, taking the overall recoveries to 19,481. The active cases stand at 281, of which 229 are in Leh and 52 are in Kargil district. Of the new cases, 20 were in Leh and three were from Kargil
There has been no Covid-related death for the past one week in Ladakh. A total of 202 people have died due Covid in the UT. — PTI
