Panipat, November 27
The body of a-21-year-old woman with a bullet injury was found in a decomposed state at an isolated place near a refinery at Dadlana village of the district here.
The deceased, Nancy Sharma of Janakpuri in Delhi, was missing from her house since November 11. Her husband along with one of his cousins and a friend murdered her and threw her body near the Panipat refinery.
According to information, Nancy, elder daughter of Sanjay Sharma of Sagarpuri in Delhi, came in contact of Sahil of the Janakpuri area. Going against the will of the girl’s parents, the couple got married in a court on March 7 this year. They had to register their marriage on November 11, but Nancy went missing the same night.
Two friends of Nancy informed her parents about the incident on November 22 after which they filed a complaint against Sahil and his family on November 23. They alleged that Sahil used to torture their daughter for dowry.
The Delhi Police arrested Sahil and one of his cousins and a friend. During the probe, Sahil disclosed that they shot her in the forehead and threw the body near Panipat refinery. The Delhi Police then contacted their Panipat counterparts and informed them about the incident.
Inspector Vikas Kumar, SHO, Madlauda, said the victim’s decomposed body was recovered from Dadlana village. Nancy’s parents identified the body from her clothes. The body was on Wednesday handed over to the victim’s kin after the post-mortem examination at the general hospital in Panipat.
