Mohali, October 25 Singh, based in Ludhiana, alleged that the trial in this regard was on in the District Court at Chandigarh. “We (victim and him) got married on August 27, 2006. In 2007, we filed for a divorce in a court at Chandigarh whose last hearing was on October 14. I just got to know that she had solemnised her marriage with Jarnail Singh Jally without taking a divorce from me.” “I had given a complaint to the Ludhiana police on October 10 and also apprised the court of the development”, alleged Singh. Notably, the victim had slapped charges of rape, kidnapping, miscarriage, criminal conspiracy against Jally, Manga and two others following which a case had been registered at the Phase I police station recently. The Punjabi singer also alleged that the victim had cheated him by concealing the status of her divorce case before solemnising a marriage with him. Singh claimed that the victim had also made her passport on fake documents. “The Chandigarh Police also investigated the matter and subsequently confiscated her passport”, alleged Singh. Meanwhile, the Mohali Police are yet to make any arrests in the case. Commando Caterers’ owner booked for fraud
Mohali, October 25 According to the police, a case under Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) has been registered against Kamaljit Singh Walia, owner of Commando Caterers, his wife Lakhvir Kaur Walia and his son Gursimran Singh Walia at the Matuar Police Station on the complaint of Harinder Singh and Parwinder Singh, both residents of Amritsar. Sub-inspector Rajiv Kumar, Station House Officer of the police station, said, “In their complaint, the duo alleged that they had purchased a house at Phase 3B1 in Mohali from the accused for Rs 4.75 crore.” “The complainants paid Rs 4.50 crore (90 per cent of the total sum) to Walias four-five months ago. Despite getting the 90 per cent payment, the accused are not getting the property registered in the name of the complainants”, said the SHO. Sub-inspector Kumar said the case had been registered after taking an opinion from the DA Legal. The police are investigating the matter. No arrests have been made so far.

Panchkula resident robbed of car
Chandigarh, October 25 The incident took place around 7.30pm when Amit reached near the Fun Republic light point on his Verna car. He alleged that someone knocked the door of the car and when the victim rolled down the window glass, a few more persons surrounded him and snatched his keys before escaping. The complainant said there were three accused. However, in his statement to Charanjeet Singh, SHO of the local police station at Manimajra, the victim claimed that one of the accused was known to him. “One of the accused has been identified as Birju, a resident of Kaimbwala. Birju and Amit were business partners and used to run a disco in Sector 5, Panchkula,” said Charanjeet. A search is being conducted in the area as the accused allegedly went towards the Panchkula
