Muddy matters
An art
installation by Indonesian artist Dada Christanto shows
sculptures symbolising victims of the mud volcano disaster
erected over the mud-covered Sidoarjo district located in
Indonesia’s eastern Java Island on the eighth anniversary of
the mud volcano disaster. Lusi, located in the Sidoarjo district
of the island of Java, erupted on May 29, 2006, in the middle of
a ricefield, in a disaster that displaced nearly 50,000 people.

Statues return
home
Tenth century
statues are presented at a ceremony in Phnom Penh after these
were welcomed home four decades after these were taken out of
the country. Cambodia officially welcomed the return of three
ancient statues looted from the kingdom more than 40 years ago,
including the one retrieved after a long legal battle in the
United States.
