Chinese farmers have developed baby-shaped pear fruits. The farmers put young fruits in specially made moulds of transparent plastic and the fruits to grow in these moulds. The fruits take the shape of babies because of this forced growth. These have been named “lucky baby” pears and displayed for sale in specially designed packages. However, the feedback is that customers are not willing to buy these lucky baby pears as they find these too cute to be eaten.
