Congress seeks repatriation of policemen on deputation with MC
Jalandhar, August 9
Levelling allegation of misusing Punjab Police personnel on deputation with the MC, the Congress has sought their repatriation to their parent
organisation.
Reiterating his demand of their repatriation to their parent organisation, Leader of Opposition in MC House Jagdish Raj Raja also submitted a formal representation to the chairman and members of the Vidhan Sabha Committee on Local Bodies during their visit to the city in this regard on Thursday.
In his representation, Raja stated "Nearly 35 Punjab Police personnel are on deputation with the MC and their average monthly salary is Rs 13
lakh."
Raja said, "As the MC is already facing acute shortage of funds, the salary of Punjab Police personnel is an extra burden on it.”
