Sanjay Bumbroo
Tribune News Service

Mandi Gobindgarh, June 2
The state government has decided to integrate and interconnect “Fard”, “Sanjh” and Suwidha Kendras (centres) by the end of this year to provide services to people in a time-bound manner. Disclosing this, Iqbal Singh Sidhu, Member Commissioner, and Jaspal Mittal, Secretary, Right to Service Commission, who were in Mandi Gobindgarh to sensitise officers, employees and citizens about the merits of the RTS Act, 2011, said under the Act, 69 services were being provided.

He said once all these services were integrated, any citizen could file his complaint in a nearby centre. After scrutiny, his complaint would be forwarded to the centre concerned. This would make the service delivery system hassle-free and transparent and would help in saving the time of people as well as the departments concerned.

Sidhu said a standardised RTS form had been devised, using this alone, anyone could avail all services. He said this form had already been uploaded on the RTS Commission’s website and soon it would be made available at all centres. He said to make the bureaucracy more accountable and to curb rampant corruption, provision had been made in the Act to punish erring officers.

He said seven officers, found guilty of committing mistakes in five different cases till March 2013, had been slapped with a fine ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 2,500. He said the commission had received 91,19,475 applications up till March 2013, out of which 89,27,473 applications had been disposed of.
