Ropar, February 22
Mystery over disappearance of a local lawyer, Satwinder Singh, has been deepened with that the police has found the footsteps on the bank of Bhakhra canal at the spot where the missing lawyer's car was found parked on February 17.

The strange thing was that the study of footprints has revealed that one person had gone towards the canal. Similarly, foot prints of one person returning from the canal were also visible though it could not be confirmed that both the footprints belong to same person, said the police sources.

Satwinder (27) got married two months ago in December and on February 14, he along with his wife had gone to house of his in-laws at Rajpura. From there, on February 17 he went to Chandigarh alone and since then found missing. His car was found parked near Bhakhra canal at Pathreri Jattan village of Ropar.

Though the police tried to extract clue analysing his call details yet nothing substantial was found which could point towards his disappearance. Though it was found that Satwinder had been in constant touch with two women identified one of his clients at Anandpur Sahib and a local girl. But he did not make any call to any of them on the February 17 from his mobile phone number, said sources.

Satwinder was in the hobby of changing his phone numbers frequently and changed his phone number at least five times during last year and the last time he changed his phone number was only a month ago, said sources. This has, however, made the investigation work a little lengthy, added sources.
