In harmony with hormones
Dr Chiranjit Parmar

Consumption of pomegranates raises the production of the male hormone, testosterone, in the body by 30 per cent. In men, testosterone is needed for the development of male reproductive tissues and secondary sexual characteristics such as increased muscle, bone mass, and growth of body hair. This research was carried out at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. Consumption of pomegranate even for two weeks increased the testosterone levels up to 30 per cent. In addition, testosterone is essential for health and well-being as well as the prevention of osteoporosis. In women, testosterone can be used to treat or prevent loss of bone density, muscle mass and to treat certain kinds of depression and low energy state.
