Nutritionists have rated macadamia (Macadamia integrifolia) as the most nutritive nut in the world. These nuts contain up to 75 per cent of fat out of which one fifth is the useful omega-7 palmitoleic acid. Besides this, these nuts contain 9 per cent protein, 9 per cent carbohydrate, and 2 per cent dietary fiber, as well as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, selenium, iron, thiamine, riboflavin and niacin. A study carried out in Australia revealed that taking 6-20 macadamias daily could lower your harmful blood cholesterol and triglycerides significantly. Macadamia nuts are native to Australia.
