Banana is a very energy-rich fruit. Two bananas can provide fuel for body for two hours. That is why banana is favoured fruit of sportspersons. Besides energy, bananas are one of the best sources of potassium, an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function. An average banana contains a whopping 467 mg of potassium and only 1 mg of sodium. So a banana a day helps in preventing high blood pressure and protect against hardening of arteries.
