A mock drill has tremendous importance. It is an orchestrated practice of our response to a natural calamity or a manmade disaster. Every other day you hear of mock drills for fire breakouts. The Delhi Metro has had a mock drill for an earthquake alarm.
A common man should also be taking part in these mock drills. An office, where corruption is openly and blatantly practised, should organise a mock drill on how to make the entire thing disappear if the CBI or vigilance suddenly swoop. Schools, colleges should also have these exercises in how to make disappear those examination halls parchis when the authorities make a surprise check to check copying.
