THE BJP had recently given a call for Bharat bandh against the FDI in retail and diesel price hike. I was just wondering how could they give a call for Bharat bandh in a nation that is already stalled. On the one hand, they shout India is standing still, and on the other hand they want to stall everything. I think the Congress should be happy with the BJP’s call for Bharat bandh. At least, the BJP admits that the nation is working and it wants to stall it.
Most of us are not economists and cannot figure out whether the FDI in retail would be good for the common man or not. Some derive their conclusion from the fact that if Mamata Banerjee is opposing the FDI in retail that it must be something good for the nation. Mamata has become so addicted to hold the protests that I think she could any day hold a rally against her own decision just to gain political mileage.

ULTAPULTA
Talking about the FDI in retail and opposing Wal-Mart, I think every Gupta, Bansal or Bhatti di Hatti opposes Wal-Marts but in their heart of hearts they want to grow into a big chain. The other thing, as the PM says, is that the FDI in retail is good for financial health. But for whose health will be determined by the CAG later on!
