It is very difficult to figure out whether marriage is a more expensive affair or divorce. It depends upon the circumstances, of course, but some people get more relief and pleasure from divorce than marriage. The basic condition of getting pleasure out of divorce is that you should be married first. It is said marriage takes five minutes to get into and a life time to get out of it. You require much more courage to get out of marriage than to say, “Will you marry me?” Recently a businessman in Delhi agreed to pay Rs 5 crore alimony to his wife to get a divorce. Although the parties involved in a divorce go through a lot of trauma and lose their sense of humor but there are millions of jokes on marriage and divorce. I have seen those who are too weak to ask for divorce take solace from the husband-wife jokes only. Tell a married man “Marriage is the only war in which you sleep with the enemy,” and he will have a hearty laugh. A cop was chasing a man who was over speeding. Finally, the cop managed to overtake him and pulled him over. The cop yelled, “Hey, why were you not stopping? Are you running off after stealing something?’ The guy responded, “Last week my wife ran off with a cop,” he said, “and I was afraid he was trying to give her back!”
