A ceramic from the Ming period, which was being used as a doorstop by a family in New York, was sold off at an auctioned of Asian art for $1.3 million. The rare blue and white moonflask (Bianhu) from the Ming Dynasty, Yongle Period, belonged to a family in Long Island, New York, and had been kept on a wooden stand and used as a doorstop at their home.

Japanese fashion designer Kazuhiro Watanabe, who holds the world record for the “Tallest Mohawk”, walks past a water fountain in Washington Square Park after a media event held by the Guinness World Records to launch their 2013 book edition in New York. According to the Guinness World Records, Watanabe’s do stands at 3 feet 8.6 inches.
