When hospital killed

A devastating fire tore through the seven-storey AMRI hospital in south Kolkata before dawn, killing 91. Most of those killed were patients who were asleep when the blaze started.

The fire brought to the fore utter neglect of safety norms on part of the hospital authorities and their lack of preparedness to deal with a disaster. Seven directors of the hospital were arrested.
