The warrior queen
A great warrior
from Jhansi
Her name was Rani Lakshmi
Bai
She is still
remembered with a great sigh
A courageous woman
she was
She fought for
India’s freedom
With determination
and wisdom
She was committed
to save her motherland
An enemy, who in
front of her couldn’t stand
She bravely
piereced her way
Any obstacle that
came her way
Though married at
an early age
She never lost
courage
She always had in
her hand a sword
There was full
faith in the lord
She wanted the
British to leave India
For this, she
sought the help
of Gwalior’s
Jiaji Rao Schindia
But because of
conspirators in his kingdom
He could not help
in this struggle of India
Lakshmi Bai lead
the Indian army in 1857
She sacrificed her
life for the country’s First War of Independence
Her ashes merged
in the sky
She is remembered
even today with a sigh
