Bengali film Nobel Chor, starring Mithun Chakraborty, has been officially selected for screening at the 55th BFI London Film Festival to be held October 12-27 this year. Mithun plays the main lead of Bhanu, who finds laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s Nobel medal, which was stolen from Santiniketan in 2004.

What happens to the medal and Bhanu in a twisted turn of events forms the entire story of Nobel Chor.

Another Bengali icon Soumitra Chatterjee also stars in the role of Mastermoshai in the film. Well-known actors like Harsh Chhaya and Rupa Ganguly also star in the film.

Nobel Chor will have its world premier at the Busan International Film festival next month.

"The film will first have its World premiere at the 16th Busan International Film Festival, where it will be shown in the Section A Window on Asian Cinema and will have three screenings from October 6 to 14," said director Suman Ghosh in a statement. — PTI
