Lyrics of hope

I wake up all alone; some place unfamiliar

There are roses on the bones; of people dear

I left footprints on the stones; as I went near

As the sun stopped to shine

I realised, the earth was melting all this time

The sight was surreal

Full of humans not give a worthy burial

The earth had finally been emancipated

As I let out a scream that was accentuated

And as I woke up from the slumber that had me bound

I scarcely opened my eyes and chanced to look around

I heaved a sigh of relief; the earth; as of yet; was round

I waste no time; and the Mayan prophecy was googled

To see what they had long ago; doodled

With my mouth dry and my eyes a shade of deep dark red

I saw what the meant when they said

"By 2012, the earth would be so dead."

In 2012; it may not be the end

But what they actually meant

Was that it was just around the bend

2,0,1,2 add up to five

Which rhymes with survive

This was the message they

wanted to give

But poor humans thought they were not going to live
