A tail has many functions, including being used in the idioms. Sometimes, when a sports team performs poorly, we usually say the team walked off the field with its tail between its legs. After Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina’s seventh-wicket stand of 146 runs in the first Test against West Indies in Jamaica resulted in India’s victory, Dhoni praised the team’s tail. Team India definitely showed that there is sting in their tail. There’s another idiom, "Kutte ki poonch kabhi seedhi nahi hoti." But why should anybody even try it? Why don’t they understand that a dog with a straight tail will occupy double space in a room? Santa Singh was inserting a dog’s tail into a pipe. Banta Singh said, "Don’t you know a dog’s tail cannot be straightened?"Santa replied, "Idiot, I am bending the pipe." Birds use their tails
for balancing themselves. Aquatic animals use their tail to swim.
Almost all government officials have invisible tails they wag in front
of their immediate bosses or political masters for personal gains. A
man goes to a veterinary surgeon and asks the vet to cut off his dog’s
tail. The doctor asks him the reason. The man says, "My
mother-in-law is going to visit me soon. I don’t want my dog to give
her the impression that she is welcome in our house."
