JOHN Lennon’s handwritten lyrics for Beatles’ song ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’ has fetched a whopping £145,700 at auction. The sheet, complete with crossings-out, sparked a bidding frenzy at the sale of showbiz memorabilia in Los Angeles, reports the Daily Express. The song was in the 1967 album ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’.

Another star of the lot was a 1924 letter from Walt Disney to Mickey Mouse creator Ub Iwerks asking him to move to California and be his chief cartoonist. It sold for £153,000.

Among the modern-day items, breeches worn by Johnny Depp in the first Pirates Of The Caribbean film went for £4,400. ANI
