Hickory Dickory Shock! The Tale of TechiesFILLED with suspense, romance and humour, this mystery thriller is based around the Indian IT industry. The author is closely associated with the corporate world and gives an in-depth account of the Indian IT industry. Here the reader is introduced to techies who are drawn into a strange world of nerve-racking suspense. This is a corporate drama which includes a big accounting fraud.

The story revolves around ‘LoRD’, a software developed by SHIVAN Computers, which gets stolen on the day of its launch. The main character of the story is Maninder Tuten Chatterjee or ‘210’, as he prefers to be called. Interestingly, 210 (02:10) is the time of his birth. After completing his studies, he joins SHIVAN Computers. Hardly familiar with the new environment in the IT city Bangalore, he finds himself being accused of the murder of a software innovator. The murder took place on the day of the launch of LoRD, which was stolen by the real killer. The trouble is heightened when Raja, Chairman of SHIVAN Computers, hatches an accounting fraud of unimaginable proportion by manipulating the accounting books of LoRD. However, 210 chances upon a Web chat between two persons with the names Hickory and Dickory. Now, he is sure that there is something wrong. To prove himself innocent, he takes help of his colleague and romantic interest, Geetika.

With the help of Geetika, 210 tries to solve the murder mystery and save LoRD and the livelihood of thousands of techies. The answer to every mystery lies locked in a trail of strange clues like the Bhagavad Gita, CD ROM’s, flutes, Napoleon, Newton, Hitler, Vedic maths, Lord Ganesha, Indus Valley scripts, secret codes, Klondike puzzle, etc.

210’s mother Gurpreet, who is an ex-kabaddi champion, always acts like a typical Punjabi mom. The marriage of her son is the top priority in her mind. Beside this, she is a very brave lady who helps 210 to solve the mystery puzzle and saves herself from the hands of the miscreants.

The author has also given summary of ancient Indian history, Vedic mathematics and ciphers. He has made good use of puzzles and clues to make the book an interesting racy read. Written in an easy-to- understand language, the book is a good combination of mystery, romance and humour.
