Samsung electronics directed to pay relief
Chandigarh, April 1 SL Sharma, a resident of Sector 45, had purchased a new one-ton AC from Sachdeva Electronics on April 6, 2010. But it started giving problems within one week of its installation. When he approached Sachdeva in May/June, 2010, they told him to call the service centre of Samsung. After lodging a complaint with them, two persons came from the service centre and changed the compressor as it was not working but after one week, the AC started giving the same problem. Again, Sharma lodged the complaint with Samsung and this time they took the AC with them stating that the cooling gas needed to be filled. After a day, it was reinstalled with an assurance that it would not give any problem. But they faced the same problem after a few days. No one appeared on the behalf of respondents. The forum observed that Samsung and Sachdeva Electronics were negligent and deficient in rendering proper services to the complainant by not repairing/replacing the AC being under the warranty period. |
