IT's a sitcom with an amazing star cast. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia from Monday to Friday at 8 P.M. on FX Channel is about five immoral underachievers, who are ignorant, egoistical, unethical and maniacal. They run Paddy’s Pub, a shady and unsuccessful bar in South Philadelphia. Led by Danny DeVito, they are constantly plotting and conspiring against people and constantly running into trouble and into situations they find hard to handle. Funny in parts, the series shows how people with limited intelligence and giant egos fumble through life without ever making an effort to become better humans. Without being pedantic or moralistic the shows gets its message across with its gripping storyline.

A taste of reality

Here’s a food show with a twist. The Chopping Block on Wednesdays at 7 P.M. on Zee Khana Khazana is Masterchef and Hell’s Kitchen rolled into one — equally absorbing and tantalising. The US series, hosted by winner of three Michelin stars, British celebrity chef Marco Pierre White, brings together eight contestant-pairs, each comprising a chef and a front-of-house member. They are divided into two teams of four pairs each. The teams are each assigned an empty restaurant space, which is opened for service. They have a challenge to compete in running the complete restaurant — from kitchen to front-of-house. Each week the weakest pair is eliminated from the show. If you are a foodie and enjoy cookery shows, this one will surely take you on a rollercoaster culinary ride. — NF
