Due to rumours of a rift between Star Plus and Balaji Telefilms, Tere Liye may go off air

IS Star Plus pulling the plug on Tere Liye which is aired from Monday to Friday 10 P.M? There are rumours of a rift between the channel and Balaji Telefilms. Star Plus is said to have asked Ekta Kapoor’s production house to wind up its popular romantic soap. The slot in all likelihood is to be filled by a new serial Navya produced by Swastik Pictures. Though Ekta has denied all talk of a feud, it seems almost certain that the show is going off the air despite notching up consistently decent TRP ratings. The serial revolves around the love story of Taani and Anurag who have grown up together but are separated by adverse circumstance and again re-united by a twist of fate. The love story is likely to end abruptly later in March. And with Ekta announcing three new serials — though none for Star Plus — the soap queen and the No. 1 entertainment channel finally seem to be going their different ways.

Date trap

Girls, would you like to date a man who owes his ex-wife $50,000 or bites his bed mate in his sleep or someone who has built a bomb shelter just in case World War III happens? And these are just some innocent quirks! Many others would have you blushing. Bizarre? Yes, sure. But Baggage from Monday to Thursday at 9 P.M. on Zee Cafe is a dating show, anchored by talk show host Jerry Springer. The basic format of the show is that three women contestants vie to catch the eye of a handsome man. Each contestant has three embarrassing personal habits or ‘baggage’ – one small, one medium and one large – which get revealed during the course of the show and two girls get eliminated. The twist in the tail comes in the end when the man also has to reveal his worst baggage. And if the two still date it is a clear case of love me, love my baggage! — NF
