ITS mission of being eco-friendly, yet luxurious, but earthy in composition has won accolades for Kanha Earth Lodge, Kanha, Madhya Pradesh. The resort has been adjudged winner of the All-India Stone Architectural Awards 2010 in the category of interior design.

An initiative of Pugdundee Safaris, it was chosen from among 56 entries at the national and international level. The award was presented recently in Jaipur by the Chief Minister, Rajasthan, at the India Stonemart 2011 Show, an exposition on the stone industry, which showcases the world of natural stones and ancillary products.

Having been among trendsetters of ‘green’ resorts, Shyamendra Singh, Director, Pugdundee Safaris, says, "The tourism industry needs to minimise environmental and ecological damage, by opting for ‘green purchasing’ and ‘energy conservation’. At all our lodges we try to use eco-friendly, recycled products. With this we hope we can change the attitude of personnel working at our various lodges that we are part of the natural system, not above it."
