More and more men are now gifting quick-fix beauty treatments like Juvederm dermal fillers and Botox to enhance the beauty of their soulmate’s appeal.
Reveals Saurabh (name changed on request), who gifted one such beauty treatment to his love; “I’m in a relationship since four years. All these years my girlfriend has been fussing over the shape of her lips. So, this year, I gifted a lip augmentation treatment to her.”
Experts believe along with the increased consciousness about looks, advancements in non-surgical cosmetic procedures and increased purchasing power has led to an upswing in the trend of gifting beauty treatments to one’s beloved.
“Earlier the options were limited. People wanting to go for cosmetic treatments had to opt for surgical procedures only. But now we have non-surgical and injectable treatments that give good results. Apart from Botox, another injectable popular among young and middle-aged women is Juvederm. Essentially, it is a filler that is used to treat deep wrinkles, folds and plump up hollow cheeks or increase lip volume.”
Fillers like Juvederm, also known as beautyfiller, are administered under the skin. Since Juvederm (which is also FDA approved) contain hyaluronic acid – a natural component of our skin, the risks of any kind of allergic reaction are significantly reduced. In procedures such as lip augmentation and cheek augmentation, this jab of beauty gives long-lasting results and is painless in comparison to the surgical methods.
The factor that contributes to the rising popularity of injectables is the low down time involved. Surgical procedures are generally time consuming, both in terms of actual treatment time and post- treatment healing time. But there are no such considerations with injectable treatments like Juvederm and Botox.
Doing a cheek augmentation takes about an hour whereas hollow cheeks can be plumped almost instantly within fifteen minutes using fillers like Juvederm. Also, there are no stitches involved in the latter procedure so there is no chance of patient getting post-treatment swelling,” Dr Simol Soin, a New Delhi-based cosmetologist.
