My teacher is my only preacher

A friend, philosopher and guide

Who helps me extend my knowledge wide

Dear ma’am

You come even before my God and my parents

As if only for me you are meant

A person who always

Helped me get out of my woe

And energised me when my spirits were low

I wish to be like you

Like the breath of fresh air and a sunshine new

I’m lucky to have you as my teacher

Who is always ready

To feed me with wisdom, intellect and knowledge hunger

I got only this way 

To greet you a Happy Teacher’s Day
