IT is a musical with a difference as there is plenty of comedy in the notes! Glee from Monday to Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. on Star World revolves around an optimistic high school teacher, Will Schuester, who attempts to save his school’s Glee Club from obscurity. The problem is that the group has a handful of non-serious ragtag performers. But these non-serious participants have untapped potential. The challenge is to transform this group not just to become a school musical club but also to become the best in the country by winning the Nationals. Will’s only hope lies with two truly talented persons Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson who have real musical talent. Determined to inspire the group, Will and a fellow teacher do whatever they can to prove all naysayers wrong and make the choir great once again. Killer drug Such is its intoxication
that it has earned the notoriety of being one of the hardest drugs to
kick. In the World’s Most Dangerous Drug on Monday at
7 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel, Lisa Ling checks out this
global epidemic to find out what makes methamphetamine so addictive
and destructive. The drug’s abuse is becoming a global
problem, as it does not discriminate. Once known as "poor man’s
cocaine," it has now infiltrated communities around the world. A
quick batch can be cooked up in a backyard shed, but it is also big
business that is crossing international borders. Even as Meth — as
it is sinisterly known — continues to shatter lives, troubling
scientific evidence is emerging about long-term physical and
psychological damage. What makes this drug so powerful, so addictive
and so destructive? Ling hangs out with Meth addicts, undercover cops,
and neuroscientists to learn the truth about the substance people are
calling the world’s most dangerous drug. — NF
