Bhang chocolates

AN ardent disciple of Baba Ramdev rushed in, disturbing the baba, who was doing meditation. "Babaji, I just heard that some American entrepreneur has sought trademark for a new brand of chocolates named bhang chocolates." Babaji said, "How am I concerned?" The disciple said, "Babaji, he is going to lace chocolates with bhang and going to sell them in the US and India. Shall we oppose it because it falls in the category of cannabis, or support it as it is a herbal product?" Baba said, "You have sent me into a state of confusion from tranquility! Let me think it over."

Chocolate maker Scott J. Van Rixel, who plans to sell a couple of bhang brand chocolates in the US, and then in India, claims, "Sky is the limit." Before he invades the Indian market we, too, should trademark our bhang pakoras and bhang papads. India is being burdened by the menace of drugs and liquor. If we cannot fight against drugs, we should at least protect our traditional products and trademarks. We can seek trademarks for afeem for heroin-laced tea or charas for narcotic cigarettes.

Imagine the scene when bhang-laced chocolates will flood our markets. A little boy would be waking up his father so that he could be dropped at school, but the father wouldn’t get out of bed. The mother would shout from the other room, "How many times have I told your father not to eat your chocolates?"
