In Survivorman, Stroud ventures out alone in the wild with only his wits and stamina to sustain him sans any food, shelter and fresh water

Adventurer Les Stroud truly believes in the dictum that only the fittest survive. In Survivorman on Thursdays at 9 P.M. on Discovery Channel, Stroud ventures out all alone in the wild for seven days with only his wits and stamina to sustain him. No food, no shelter, and no fresh water — each episode finds him abandoned in a remote location with little more than the clothes on his back — and 50 pounds of camera gear. In this new season, Stroud travels the wilds and sets up real-world scenarios in which he must survive. From the frigid Arctic tundra to the unforgiving Australian Outback and from Papua New Guinea, to the rugged Sierra Nevada, he tempts fate and comes out trumps.
