THIS can be dubbed as the world’s most shocking natural destructive forces captured on film. From rampaging tornadoes, catastrophic collisions and terrorist attacks to the 1986 fatal explosion of the Space Shuttle, no topic is too trivial or taboo for this show. Destroyed in Seconds on Saturday at 6 P.M. on the Discovery Channel brings you disasters captured on film. Shocking scenes that range from a fire at a chemical plant, to a race driver trapped in a burning car, a pilot dumped out of a balloon during an air show, a train derailment and a stunt jump that goes wrong. Be they acts of nature or caused by man, the show is not meant to just shock and entertain, but to explore the causes of mass destruction and how families and communities bounce back from devastation. It shows the mesmerising power of savage forces wreaking havoc and devastation even as the show explores the cause and effect of sudden destruction caught on tape!

Fear is the key

It is a frighteningly funny hidden-camera show that scares the life out of unsuspecting victims by pulling pranks on them. Scare Tactics on Monday at 8.30 P.M. on AXN, hosted by actor and comedian Tracy Morgan, is a show that turns fears into realities by placing ordinary people in situations inspired by science-fiction and horror films. Scare Tactics has the victim’s friends and family members in on the game, helping to plan most of the scary pranks. In every situation "actors" are unwitting, real people, who have been set up by their friends. They have no clue that they are about to be taken on haunting thrill-rides that will leave them screaming — nor do they suspect that every moment is being recorded. It’s in these "movie moments" that real emotions take over and that’s when you see people reacting to a reality that has been altered — a reality so utterly freaky that its victims can’t help but scream with fright and sometimes even faint. — NF
