Television CAN
an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend become just a good friend? Date
My Ex on Wednesdays at 6 P.M. on AXN is a dating show that
answers the question, "Can exes be friends?" The series
follows Jo De La Rosa as she looks for love and adventure in Los
Angeles where she has moved to pursue a singing career. But as Jo’s
suitors will find out, you don’t get her without former
boyfriend Slade! In each episode, Jo goes on a series of dates.
But the men must all live up to the standards of Slade, who is now
her closest confidante. Slade grills them to find out which one
seems most suitable for his ex girlfriend. The show tries to find
whether Jo will be able to break from Slade completely and find
love again and whether Slade have Jo’s best interests in mind,
or will he want to get rid of the person who poses a legitimate
threat. Showstopper It is touted as the
most watched show ever in the history of television. And that’s
no exaggeration considering it has over 1.1 billion viewers around
the globe. Baywatch every Friday to Sunday at 11 P.M. on
Star World has a cult following, thanks to its glamour quotient
that includes the likes of Pamela Anderson and Erika Eleniak. Set
against the lush backdrop of Southern Californian coastline (and
later Hawaii), Baywatch traces the adventures and diverse
lifestyles of a group of lifeguards, both on and off the beach.
Everything from earthquakes to shark attacks to serial killers and
even nuclear bombs have served as plot conflicts on the show. The
trademark of the show are the slow motion shots of stars like
Pamela, Erika, Aldo Yasmeen Bleeth and Alexandra Paul as they dash
for a rescue mission. Over the years critics have given the series
a number of uncharitable names like Babewatch, Bumwatch and
Brawatch but its makers say that though beach goddesses are an
important part of Baywatch, this is not a Peeping Tom kind
of a show. "If it was, we wouldn’t have half the world
watching it!" — NF
