Television IT
has been called the ultimate challenge on television, devised by
one of the shrewdest business brains in the world. And the
contestants are no ordinary people either. They are celebrities in
their own right — Ivy League MBAs, entrepreneurs, actors,
authors, doctors, Olympians and more. The Celebrity Apprentice
every Monday at 9 P.M. on Zee Caf`E9 is hosted by Donald Trump,
the American business tycoon, socialite and author. The
contestants vie for the title of the Best Business Brain and
the winner is the one who achieves his or her goal through
imagination, daring and out-of-the-box thinking. Contestants are
given real-life business tasks ranging from marketing, promotions,
real estate deals, advertising campaigns and human resource
development challenges. They are told to execute them using their
fame and business acumen. A panel of judges headed by Donald Trump
watches how the contestants go about doing their task and the
smartest of them is announced the winner, who gets a whopping
$250,000 purse. The winner does not take home the prize money but
donates it to a charity of his or her choice. This ultimate
reality show not just tests the contestants’ ability to triumph
in the face of extreme challenges but also showcases their
innovative, and sometimes, street-smart skills in achieving their
given goals. Bloody Olympics The date September
5, 1972, will go down in history as the darkest day of modern
Olympics. That day 11 Israeli athletes were murdered in cold blood
during the Munich Olympics by an Arab radical group going by the
ominous name of Black September. Munich — The Real Assassins
on Sunday on the History and Entertainment Channel relives the
horror of the ghastly event when modern terror first rose its ugly
head and changed the way important events and occasions would be
policed and secured. The massacre, which left 11 Israelis, five
terrorists and a German policeman dead, shocked the world and
instigated the Israelis to plan a fierce revenge. Within days,
Israeli jets bombed Palestinian bases in Lebanon and Syria,
killing a number of people. An absorbing documentary that draws on
testimonies never heard before from Mossad agents, who carried out
Israel’s bloody revenge. It reveals the true story behind the
most incredible government-sponsored mission in the history of the
war on terror giving it the pace of a thriller. — NF
