"Things are changing rapidly in the society. Children today want to party late, wear attractive and short clothes and spent lavishly, among other things, while, parents want to bind them, they try to refrain them in their own manner," De said recently on the sidelines of the announcement of the launch of her ‘Snappy Happy’ series, penned for children.

With all these reasons children try to hide and lie about certain things from their parents and the gap between them also increases which needs to be reduced. Communication, understanding, openness is required, she said.

Popular Prakashan, a leading publishing house, recently announced the launch of the ‘Snappy Happy’ series for children. The first book in the series, S’s Secret, will be available in six languages from December 15.

‘S’s Secret is a story about a 14-year-old girl, Sandhya, her agony and ecstasy of a first crush, delirious planning for the school social, urge to rebel against her doting but strict parents and a secret that she can’t tell anyone not even her best friend.

De, who took eight months to pen the book, said, "Children will adore the book and be able to relate to it. Also, they must share things with their family, trust them as they are the one who will stand by them and help them." — PTI
