IS Sachin Tendulkar making Marathas more proud or is it Raj Thackeray? The question itself is so idiotic that I may get hit by any passerby. Sachin said he was proud to be a Maharashtrian, but he played for India. What a great statement! The depth and greatness of Sachin’s statement could never be understood by Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray’s MNS men roughed up Samajwadi party legislator Abu Azmi in the Maharashtra Assembly for taking oath in Hindi and not in Marathi. Raj Thackeray’s brand of politicians do not go by the essence/contents of the oath, they are only concerned about the language the oath. Probably they know that kicking up a fuss about the language puts them in national headlines. They only read out the text of the oath but from deep inside their heart they seem to be saying, "I, so and so, do swear by the name of the God that I will not hesitate to disrespect the Constitution to earn fame, power and money by any fair or unfair means. I will create every divide in the name of language, religion, cast and colour to cling to this seat of power". Thackeray should learn at least one lesson from his Maratha brother Sachin. Imagine if Sachin had ever said that he would only play with a bat made from Maharashtrian wood then he wouldn’t have been the most lovable man of India. If silly point be a position in politics, then Raj Thackeray deserves to be fielded there.
