Learning English English, friends, is easy to learn The dictionary’s got lots for us to earn But something’s there in the language That leads to a serious brain haemorrhage And grammar makes me dizzy in my head Are you being ‘mislead’ or misled? Is it a ‘competion’ or a ‘competition’? ‘completion’ or ‘compeletion’? Spellings may be confusing, alright For example, is it ‘hight’ or ‘height’? Pronunciation is murderous than the mightiest sword But I can’t tell about it in words I’ll try if you want me to Is ‘rue’ pronounced like ‘hue’? Does ‘hurry’ rhyme with ‘bury’? Or does ‘diary’ rhyme with ‘dairy’? Does ‘full’ rhyme with ‘skull’? Or is ‘pull’ just like ‘dull’? Does ‘poor’ rhyme with ‘door’? What about ‘tour’ and ‘four’? Let me make one thing clear I am not a silly girl, dear I know English the way it is pleasing It’s actually you whom I am teasing So close this thing and pick up the dictionary And tell me whether it is ‘histery’ or ‘history’?
