Murder at Dhaba
Bassi Pathana, September 20 Thablan had lodged a complaint with the police that he escaped a bid on his life at the gurdwara as he was shot at by three villagers, but he saved himself and fired in self defence injuring one of them. The police had registered an FIR against five persons. Joginder Kaur, mother of the accused, in a letter to the DGP and the ADGP (crime), had earlier alleged that her sons and grandsons had been falsely implicated by Thablan in connivance with the police. She had mentioned that none of her sons had fired at the SAD leader rather the latter injured her son with a gunshot. The ADGP (crime) marked an inquiry to the DIG (Patiala Range), but nothing was done. In the meantime, her son Fateh Singh, alias Joga, was murdered at a dhaba in Morinda. Joginder Kaur alleged that the SAD leader enacted a drama of alleged firing on him, as the bone of contention between her family and of the leader is a 4.5 kila land, which the latter had forcible grabbed with the help of the police. She further alleged that her injured son Karam Singh had been kidnapped from the GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh, where he was admitted for treatment. She had urged the Chief Justice of the high court to save the family from the atrocities being committed by the leader. When contacted, DSP Rajwinder Singh Sohal said after inquiry and certain witnesses produced by the complainant a cross case had been registered against Thablan under Section 307 of the IPC. |
