IT was recently reported in a newspaper that a man approached a court in Ropar to allow him to sell one of his kidneys so that he could pay the alimony to his wife. On hearing the news, Sharmaji asked, "How could a court allow a man to sell his kidney? I answered, "What else could a man sell? Dimag to bik nahin sakta, kyon ki wife ne pahele hi chaat liya hota hai." (Brain can’t be sold as the wife has already befuddled it). The news set my mind racing. What if the selling of human organs became legal? Then one might come across many one-eyed people in the street. "Arre, bhai sahib, what happened?" "Nothing yaar! I had to sell one of my eyes to give compensation to my ex-wife!" Chances are that you might meet your bald friend, who is wearing a wig. "Hi! What a beautiful wig you are wearing. It looks so natural!!! "Yes, I won the court case and as compensation my wife had to sell her hair from which I have got this wig made". Recently, the Mumbai police arrested a man who had 14 wives. Now, I understand why he didn’t divorce each of his previous wives. Because if he had to sell his body parts to pay for the compensation, he would have been left with bare bones only!!! A judge once asked a woman, "Lady, what is the basis of your plea for divorce proceedings?" The woman said, "Your Honour, this man doesn’t have a heart". The judge said, "Mister, how much did you sell your heart for? Give half the proceeds of that to your wife!"
