THE School For Scoundrels on Thursday at 9 P.M. on Star World is hilarious roller-coaster comedy. In this remake of the 1959 classic by the same name, director Todd Phillips tells the story of a dejected New York meter reader Roger (John Heder), who enrolls in a confidence-building school that guarantees to turn losers into virile studs. 

Roger hopes the course will help him win the affection of Amanda (Jacinda Barret), the girl he secretly loves. This misfit class has an ultra-aggressive professor, Dr P (Billy Bob Thornton), who has some very unusual teaching methods. However, things come to a head when Dr P decides to use his crafty techniques to seduce Amanda. That’s when Roger decides to roll up his sleeves, prove his worth and win back the girl of his dreams. — NF
