Ginni: How’s your dog doing? Manju: It’s in bad shape. Although we got it a collar, but our dog suffers from spondylosis. When it barks loudly it gets giddy and falls down. What about your cat? Ginni: Its eyesight is failing. Now it can’t even differentiate between a rat and a lizard. Manju: Why don’t you get your cat a pair of contact lenses? Ginni: Her veterinary doctor has recommended an operation for its cataract. We had to take the date for next month because this month our parrot is due for tonsils check-up. Do not think that this is an imaginary conversation. An East German firm has come up with custom-made contact lenses for animals. These German lenses have brought back gift of sight for dozens of house pets, racehorses and circus animals. Next time during a visit to the zoo you might find the lion missing from its cage. The attendant may inform you, "Sir, the lion has been taken away for ECG. It was having nervousness fits and breaking into cold sweats since morning." A lion was sitting in
the corner of its cage in a dejected mood. The lioness asked,
"What happened?" The lion replied that he had been getting
threatening calls from monkey saying, "Don’t you dare look at
my wife, I will gauge your eyes out." The lioness said, "Don’t
worry darling. If anything like that happens, we will get your eyes
operated."
