I said to a Member of Parliament, "Sir, I was watching a TV programme during which I saw you sleeping in Parliament. He replied, "Medical experts say the lack of sleep can cause emotional and psychological imbalance. So, I have been sleeping to keep fit."

Now I realise why so many people catch up with their sleep at their office tables. They want to be mentally alert when they go home.

It has been established scientifically that people suffering from anxiety, depression, paranoia, etc., cannot sleep well. Government officers, who suffer from depression and anxiety, can pass it on to others if they are forced to remain awake in their office.

Some people walk in sleep, while some talk in sleep. A woman once complained to the doctor, "My husband talks during his sleep." The doctor said, "That’s because the poor fellow may not be getting to talk while awake."

An MP staged a walkout even before any issue was raised in Parliament. The Speaker of the House asked, "On what issue are you walking out?" His colleague said, "Sir, he is sleepwalking."
